Yes. According to caring medical, strawberry consumption has been clinically proven to reduce some of the symptoms of arthritis in obese patients, as well as to address issues of chronic inflammation by lowering inflammatory markers.

In a study published in May 2018 in Food Chemistry, researchers found that strawberries can help reduce inflammation and toxic fatty acid production.

This is because strawberries have a high concentration of Anthocyanins, which are the pigment that gives them their color.

The researchers also found that P3G, a type of Anthocyanin found in strawberries, has anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat inflammatory conditions.

So, if your doctor or dietician tells you to eat more strawberries, that’s the way to go.

The Hard Science Behind Strawberry’s Healing Power

Strawberries have been scientifically proven to have healing powers:

    • Due to the high levels of antioxidants and plant chemicals in the fruit, eating strawberries has been linked to maintaining health and preventing several chronic diseases.
    • The phenolic compounds in strawberries act as anti-inflammatory agents, anti-cancer agents, anti-proliferative agents, anti-atherosclerosis agents, and anti-heart disease and anti-stroke agents.

Strawberries are known to be highly anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and even antibacterial

The Italian, Mexican, Spanish, and Ecuadorian leading universities published their research findings on the health advantages of strawberries in the most toxic environments.

A common denominator of the pathogenesis of many chronic inflammatory diseases is oxidative stress.

Simply Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) is a chemical reaction that results in oxidant damage.

To protect against oxidant damage, dietary antioxidants from plant foods are an effective strategy.

In this study, the researchers pre-treated E. Coli with Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and pretreated the toxin with strawberry extract.

When the cells were exposed to E. Coli, strawberry extracts reduced the amount of oxidative stress induced by LPS by reducing the production of both ROS and nitrite.

Strawberry extracts also stimulated endogenous antioxidant enzyme activities, increasing protection against lip, protein, and DNA damage.

So, what does this all mean? It means that oxidative stress and its metabolites were stopped by the antioxidant activity of the strawberry, and in fact, it was reversed.

Now that you know that strawberries may be good for you, here is another claim made by the same researchers as in the last two cited studies.

In a third journal, Critical Reviews in food science and Nutrition, these researchers wrote, “Current evidence suggests that consuming strawberries, a naturally occurring source of a wide variety of nutrients and bioactive chemicals, is linked to the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.”

Cell and animal studies have shown that strawberries have anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-protective properties.

Strawberries are good for you, but they’re not the answer to weight gain, chronic inflammation, and joint pain.

Many patients who come into our Prolotherapy treatment program with the expectation of regenerating the damaged tissue in their painful joints are disappointed. Years of degenerative damage can’t be reversed by one “magic bullet” treatment.

If you want to avoid joint replacement, you need an aggressive and realistic approach to regenerating and restoring the tissue in your degenerative joint disease.

Strawberries may be a superfood for many, but they’re not a magic bullet.

What they can do, however, is plant seeds (no pun intended!) to help you turn the page on your healthcare journey by creating awareness.
